The sessions are for anyone who would like some guidance on all the aspects involved in preparing for and taking part in the event.

Each session will be 2 ½ hours in length and will cover all 3 disciplines plus an opportunity to get plenty of practical advice to take away and put in to practice. The cost is £6 per session or £15 if you book for all 3. The sessions are designed to be fun and informative with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, you don’t need any specialist equipment to take part and the sessions are open to all abilities. If you have done a triathlon before you are still welcome to attend as there will be plenty to learn. Details of the training sessions are available below.

The sessions are being delivered by Steve Lloyd & Nick Dunn in conjunction with the British Triathlon Federation (BTF), both are very experienced coaches & triathletes – Steve is a professional Level 3 Coach and Nick is the current ITU Age Group World Champion as well as being a Level 2 Coach.

Preparation is key to a good first race and getting some sound theory and practical advice will greatly improve your confidence on race day and ultimately enhance your race experience. Remember the event is about completion not competition especially if it is your first time.

Outlaw Bike Ride
Sunday 16th May & Sunday 27th June

We are planning two specific rides in preparation for the Outlaw on Sunday 16th May & Sunday 27th June. It isn't just for people doing Outlaw, anyone is welcome to join us. We have a few people leading the rides to cater for all abilities & speeds.

Where? Meet at the Finish line gantry on the Regatta Lake (where we meet for Open Water), at the National Watersports Centre, Holme Pierrepont (HPP)
When? 9.00 am Sunday 16th May 2010 and 9.00 am Sunday 27th June (departing about 9.15 am)

The plan on 16th May is to do the initial leg of the Outlaw ride from HPP to Lowdham Island and then do 1 lap of the course and end up back at Lowdham Island before returning back to HPP via the official Outlaw route. Total distance will be around 50 miles and we will plan to stop at some point for a tea and cake break.

The next ride on 27th June we plan to do the same route but this time it will be 2 laps of the course which will be about 80 miles. The Outlaw is the first 'Ironman' Distance triathlon event in Nottingham and takes place on Sunday 8th August 2010 featuring a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run.
