“I first decided to get a triathlon coach simply to improve, but after a year of
coaching from Steve I have received a whole lot more. Not only have I seen significant
improvements in all three disciplines but my training now has a structure and purpose
which has increased my enjoyment of the sport.
In the initial meetings with Steve
he got me to set goals and list priorities. This enabled him to develop a training
plan that was specific to my needs. Weekly contact ensures that I am training correctly
and regular testing by Steve has increased confidence in my own ability.
Having a
coach has meant that my training is now specific for me and no longer do I have to
paw through books and magazines trying to draft a plan of my own, thus saving time
meaning more time for training. Since joining Absolute Triathlon Coaching I have
gone from an athlete enjoying his sport to one competing for his country and loving
his sport.

“I have worked with Steve over the past two years to improve all aspects of my swimming.
Steve did a full needs analysis prior to commencing instruction, this was something
no other coach had ever offered me. We have worked together at improving my performance
over the past year which has resulted in a 15% increase in performance in my Ironman
races. I have no hesitation in recommending Steve as he has an excellent coaching
and mentoring style to help people of all abilities.”

“Steve is a great support as a coach having worked with me from being an overweight
mum to completing two standard distance triathlons this year. My weekly programmes
ensure I work towards the goals for the season in a structured fashion, and although
due to where I live we don’t have a huge amount of face-to-face time, Steve is always
on the end of a phone to talk to.

You gave me the one swim lesson back in June, but it made a big impact. Having previously
had no confidence and even less ability in the water, I managed to complete a 70.3
(my first triathlon!) in the New Forest yesterday. The swim still needs some work,
but it is a big deal for me to have done it at all. So thanks a lot for your help
with that.

“It was weird last night in the pool how I managed to maintain a good pace but really
wasn't putting much effort in... Been reading the "Be IronFit" book and its basically
like listening to you :-) you are bang on with the training but I wanted to read
it more for the time management tips etc... but just seeing things written down sometimes
makes sense to me... and last night I tried to pretend my arm was going over a barrel
and then pull making sure everything was in sync, and the recovery I took a lot more
relaxed rather than slamming in to the water.... things you've told me before but
only now "for some reason" I am actually understanding.”

“Good news - at the Tri Club AGM I was presented with the clubs 'Most improved Triathlete' award! Hooray, thanks to all the support I have had and all my hard work it has really paid off and not only that people have noticed!
Thank you for your support.”

“As a Triathlon Coach Steve is great to work with. His knowledge and experience
mean that he can match his depth of knowledge and skill to real life situations.
With his help I was able to meet my goal of completing an Ironman distance triathlon
and I would recommend him to anyone looking to improve their triathlon performance.”

“I have known Steve since 2009 in his capacity as Head Coach at Absolute Triathlon
Club. Joining what can be a daunting sport I found Steve to be approachable, knowledgeable
and so committed. The amount of personal time he invests in the club cannot be underestimated.
Not only does he get great results, he makes training enjoyable and the success
of the club is largely down to him”

“I have used Steve’s services both as a member of Absolute Triathlon Club, where
I received some fantastic help and met some great people in the process, and through
a 1-2-1 swim analysis session. The swim analysis session that I attended was an
immense help to my swimming. This also tied in with a wetsuit fitting session which
led me to buying an excellently fitting wetsuit that I don’t think I would have been
able to find myself.”

“I have known and worked with Steve for two years now and I would recommend him to
anybody interested in improving their fitness and particularly their run, swim, and
bike times for triathlon. Steve’s approach is positive, supportive and encouraging
and aimed at getting the best from athletes of all abilities. If you want some help
improving in Triathlon I suggest you call him.”

“Hi Steve, Completed the 400m time trial this morning in the pool and made it in
7:53. I'm so pleased with this as I was well over 9 mins when I started only a few
months ago. Thanks for your help.”

“You are definitely top dog in the coaching scene!”
